How old is a dog when it goes to a Guardian?
Some are puppies and others are adults retiring from the show ring that are placed in guardian homes. This results in the best possible quality of life and gives every dog the privilege of being house pets rather than a kennel dog.
What are the Responsibilities of a Guardian?
A guardian must have a fenced back yard and live within 60 miles of our home. If other dogs are in the house, they must be spayed/neutered.
A guardian agrees to the same level of care to the puppy as they otherwise would - proper training, socializing, and care. All medical expenses directly relating to breeding (health testing, etc.) are paid by us, not the Guardian.

How many litters does a dog have?
It depends on the quality of the female and her pups. We typically have 2-3 litters with a female, but an outstanding producer may have 3-4, and then the guardian becomes the owner of the dog. Females come into season twice a year, but not all of the girls are bred every year. Once a female is 2 years old and passes all the health clearances, she will come to us when she comes in season. After getting bred she will go back to her guardian home. Girls return to us about a week before they are due to have her babies and stays until they she weans the pups.
Can a Guardian visit their dog while she is raising pups?
When the dog is with us, we encourage visits and you can stop by as often as they want to see their dog and play with the puppies.
